One of my beautiful clients who just had her session last Saturday wrote to me saying she would like to share her experience with others, but wanted to be anonymous. I told her I of course would post it anonymously, expecting a short comment about her session that I could use for the “What She Said Wednesday” posts I put on my Facebook page.
What she sent me was so much more than that. It is amazing hearing from one of my clients about their session in the kind of detail she gave me. Really I cannot explain the boudoir experience as well as my clients can, so without further ado, I’ll post what she asked me to share:
“WOW! I just don’t even know where to begin! When I started thinking about doing a boudoir session, I wasn’t sure that this would be something I could go through with! As a curvy girl, I am very self-conscious about the way that I look in regular clothes – even more so in much less! So I started researching photographers and came across Modern Boudoir! Looking through the galleries, I saw other curvy girls and thought well, maybe I could do this. So I scheduled an appointment – it was a quick scheduled appointment but luckily you could accommodate my last-minute request and I knew instantly that if I ever did do a shoot, that you would be the one to do it with! Such a comfortable first meeting and you assured me that all women feel the same way that I do…nervous and unsure….but that you would help ease that all the way through! In March I set a date and paid for the experience….and will admit that I still was not sure I would go through with it!
Fast forward to May 28th and the day! I had a 2-hour drive to the studio which didn’t help the nerves AT ALL! So I turned up the music on the road and headed out! (By the way, I couldn’t decide on what I wanted to wear, so I threw a lot of stuff in the car hoping that you would know exactly what would work best!) I arrived at your studio a little early and found everyone else was there, too..the hairstylist and makeup artist had also arrived early! You asked me how I was doing and I admitted…I was still very nervous! But again, you assured me that it was fine – that I wasn’t the only person to ever feel that way! Quick introductions and the crew set to work on me….paying attention to me! How many days in a woman’s life is the attention solely focused on us! That experience was AMAZING as they both asked and listened to what I thought I wanted and then offered additional suggestions and the end result? WOW! I was totally shocked as I didn’t expect the end result! I loved the look!
Time to move on to the shoot itself! During the hair and makeup, you looked at the outfits I had brought with me and asked me what I was thinking. I shared that I had one outfit that I had to have in the shoot, but was totally open to the other two! You looked at everything, asked questions and suggested the two remaining outfits…one I was ok with and the other I was skeptical about, but agreed that I trusted you to know what would work! And I am so glad I did! While I haven’t yet seen the final results, I am so WOWed by the sneak preview! I can’t wait to see the final results…but it is about so much more than the final pics!
Cassie, you made my entire experience the best time I could ever have imagined! My nerves seemed to disappear and I had so much fun being all sexy and everything! My girlfriends that I have shared the peek with are in love with the result! I shared with them that this experience was the BEST thing I have EVER done for myself! I came into your studio that day looking like my normal self and left feeling like a new woman…a beautiful woman with this confidence that I haven’t had before!! Thank you so much for making this happen! I can’t wait to see the results and really can’t wait for my December experience!
To those of you who may be reading this wondering if you could or should do the Boudoir experience..YES! You should do it! We all need to have that time…even if it’s one day….that we are pampered and the whole world stops to focus on us for even that short period of time! You won’t regret doing it…even if it’s only for yourself!
